May 6, 2026 – Segway has secured Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) verification for its Urban B200 shared e-bike, making it the world’s first shared e-bike to obtain this certification, awarded by TÜV SÜD.
Issued by TÜV SÜD, the verification confirms full compliance with ISO 14040 and ISO 14044 standards, demonstrating the first systematic visibility into the product’s carbon footprint, as well as the company’s active response across 17 other environmental indicators.
The assessment revealed a total carbon footprint of 885 kg CO2-eq, from cradle to gate with key component like frame (14.46%), rear wheel assembly (10.66%), and battery assembly (10.10%), etc. The Urban B200 builds on this foundation by embedding lifecycle thinking in design. By analyzing environmental impacts from sourcing, the Urban B200 incorporates significant recycled materials, while maintaining structural integrity and durability.
Verified Urban B200 LCA certificate and comprehensive environmental data provide Segway with a holistic view to continuously improve design, expand renewable energy use in production, optimize packaging and logistics, and strengthen supply chain sustainability standards, thus advancing our progress toward the carbon neutrality goals. Besides, empowering clients to articulate their sustainability credentials when engaging on long-term mobility partnerships, enabling end users to ride with confidence, knowing that every trip contributes to a lower-carbon urban environment.

With the world’s first Life Cycle Assessment Verification awarded by TÜV SÜD to shared e-scooters Max Plus X and Max S90L models in 2023, Segway established the benchmark for accountable micromobility.
